Support Our Work

In Perpetuity's first slate of initiatives turns our mission into action across Central and Eastern Washington. Each one began with a real need a community named. Your support helps move it from early development into results on the ground.

Forest Management & Sustainable Practices

Forests That Work For Everyone

Supporting forest practices and partnerships that reduce wildfire risk, promote native tree stock, enhance biodiversity, and restore the snowpack and water retention our region depends on. Ecological health, economic viability, and cultural values do not have to be at odds.

SEPA Democracy Project

Finding Conflict Before It Costs Everyone

Permit delays rarely come from how long people are given to respond. They come from a project sitting in conflict with a resource a community values, surfacing too late to resolve cheaply. SEPA Democracy moves that discovery to the front end, with a standardized process built to find real conflict early. That serves the public and tribal interests it is meant to, and it protects the developer's investment too. Phase I is underway now, guiding the research and development behind it and setting the targets that will carry it toward real, measurable change.

Coast Salish Sculpture Award

Honoring Coast Salish Leadership

In Perpetuity has acquired two sculptures by a renowned Coast Salish artist. We are raising funds to restore them and establish an award recognizing Coast Salish community leadership. More to come.

What We're Hearing

Our community needs assessments are ongoing, but a few long-term priorities have already come into focus. Our first-year initiatives already touch some of them. As more input comes in, the Board will direct how we expand into the rest.

Water availability for natural and cultural resources in headwater streams
Effective land use processes
Passing cultural knowledge on to youth
More community art projects

Where Our Work Meets These Needs

Our first-year initiatives were not built to answer everything the community has named. Here is what they are already reaching, and what still waits on what we hear and what the Board decides next.

Our Initiatives
Community-Identified Needs
Forest Management & Sustainable Practices
Water availability for natural and cultural resources in headwater streams
SEPA Democracy Project
Effective land use processes
Passing cultural knowledge on to youth
More community art projects

Solid borders and arrows show where this year's work already reaches. Dashed borders are needs the community has named that still wait on future initiatives.

Every Gift Moves This Forward

These initiatives are in early stages, several already in front of state and federal partners for support. Your gift extends what we can do and how quickly we can do it.

SEPA DEMOCRACY PROJECT

Find Conflicts Earlier

SEPA Democracy is developing a consistent way to identify community and resource concerns early in environmental review. Earlier discovery can support public and tribal interests while helping developers address conflicts before they become costly delays.

Phase I is underway, guiding research, development, and measurable goals for the pilot.

From Listening to Action

Community priorities guide our next steps. Forest stewardship addresses water and habitat needs; SEPA Democracy works toward more effective land use decisions.

As we listen, the Board will guide future work in cultural learning and community art. We welcome your ideas, local knowledge, and potential partnerships.
